New Year, New Dress.

I will admit that I find New Year the most over rated night of the year but I still get myself involved with plans because it would just be sad if I didn’t throw on a nice frock and brought the bells in on my own!

It is always a nightmare trying to find a suitable dress to fit the occasion so, after hours of online snooping I have put together a collection of ideas that I think are New Year appropriate.

UGG Season

UGG season is well and truly here and if like me you love being comfy this will be your favourite time of year too.

There is a lot of controversy over the UGG boot fashion but I am a true believer that this item is one of those that you need to splash out on to get right – Primark copies just will not make the cut!
Furr and Ugg

This year I bought leather ones, I figured these will be easier to keep clean and they are a little different. For this look I matched them with my Khaki casual dress and wine coloured fur jacket

New Hair Day Saturday

I feel big headed saying this but I always do have people commenting on my hair and asking me where I get it done and well, I have to thank my HAIR GOD for that!!

hair blonde

Danielle is an expert when it comes to colouring as she always knows exactly what I am looking for. My favourite thing about her skills is that she will never let anyone walk into the salon and leave with the exact same colour as anyone else’s hair she has worked her magic on!

Recently I have been going a lot lighter for the summer months but with Winter well and truly in full swing I wanted to dull my colours down a little.

Hair

Finding a hairdresser you actually like and trust is very difficult which is why I couldn’t be happier that I found Danielle who works at Mitchell’s on Duke Street in Glasgow and I would highly recommend this salon.

Winter Knit Bargain!!

I think the one thing I enjoy most about the winter season is all of the cosy jumpers that hit the shelves.

Knit upclose.JPG

I picked mine up from Primark! I loved the colour of it and it was a bargain at only £12. If like me you never keep things for the following year then Primark is the perfect place for you!

For a more dressed up look I matched my knit with a pair of Topshop denim shorts and my Quiz thigh highs – these are definitely my best buy for autumn/winter! I finished the look off with my Steve Madden belt which I picked up in TKMAX a while ago but they always have lovely things in stock!

Knit thigh high

For a more casual look this Knit matches perfectly with a pair of jeans. I actually picked these up from Primark too. It’s the first time I have got a pair from here and surprisingly they are a great fit! I then added my Adidas Stan Smith’s to finish the casual look off.

NAIL SAVIOR!!

I cannot recommend this product enough. No I am not a sponsor although I think I would make a pretty good job of it if I was!!

For anyone who is prone to spending fortunes on acrylic/shellac/gel nails and weekly trips to a nail salon then you can thank me later for introducing you to this life changing product – http://www.boots.com/en/Seche-Vite-Dry-Fast-top-coat_1321809/

Seche Vite was recommended to me by a friend as I was trying my best to save my dying nails from constant acrylic applications as well as trying to save myself a small fortune on the money I spend having my nails done!

This amazing product is a fast drying top coat that is applied after nail varnish colours.

It leaves my nails looking as if I have had gel or shellac applied and I have had nothing but compliments since!

The shine is fab and it lasts for weeks!! I picked mine up from Boots however, this product is also available in Sally Express

I used this to perfect my nude/stone colour from Barry M and I added a bit of sparkle since its nearly Christmas time (did I just say that?)

Just Wake Me Up When We Get To Paris!

I am going through that stage in life where saving for a flat is my priority however, that doesn’t stop the constant urges I have to book a flight to Paris!

So, until I can turn these dreams into reality I have New Look’s Nightwear Range to keep me sane. Processed with VSCOcam with p5 preset

The Glasgow winter weather has well and truly hit!! Floods and storms are here which means cosy nights are too, and this unfortunately meant that my attempt to bring Paris to Glasgow was never going to be a success. Croissants and fizz for breakfast whilst looking out at that weather just wasn’t even worth the effort.

I am still sitting here asking myself why I even left the house today!! You couldn’t even step out of the car without being blown away and left drenched. Anyway, I did and after a few hours of good girlfriend duties with Josh I got myself home for an afternoon in bed with movies and chocolate!

Treat yourself to a pair here.

Baby you’re a ….Sparklerrrr!

So sparklers were as exciting as my 5th of November got!!!

Hanging out in my back garden with the family drinking Starbucks and playing with sparklers….its close enough to a firework display, right?

What I wore:

Zara leather booties (I am not sure my footwear was Bonfire night appropriate but they looked good!)

Leather Overload!!! I matched my New Look Leather effect jeans with my leather jackets.

I think my brain thought I was celebrating Christmas not the 5th of November at my (no fireworks involved) firework garden party with this amazing H&M knit!!! I fell in love with this jumper and so much so I waited 40 minutes in store for the last XS to be taken off the front window display!!

In the end I still had a lovely night with my family and at least I can feel a little ‘fireworky’ and talk about how much fun I had throwing sparklers around my garden all night – I think I will plan a little better next year!

Monday Brunchin’

A Monday spent shopping with your mum. being spoiled and brunching at Juice Garden is a Monday VERY well spent!

IMG_6757

My mum is an air hostess so jets around the world  far too frequently. Although I love her for the job she has as it treats my ever lasting obsession with Victoria Secrets and the odd VAT saving deal from the USA or China, it can be so hard for us to spend quality time together!!

I wore my River Island Winter Boots – my best buy last year!! Leather heels, I will admit I once used them as an excuse for wellies because they are so comfy – Glam Wellies!

My H&M fur Gilet is another winter must have! In November its always hard to gauge the weather and there is nothing glam about being too warm indoors so this is a perfect in-between 🙂

I made the most of this time with her, we brunched in Juice Garden Byres Road – the best foodie place to land itself on my (sort of) doorstep! Gluten Free all round and I love a good Green Juice!

We then shopped till we dropped, I was even online shopping on route to shops!! Why is there no Missguided store!??

The Fashion…LA MODE

Channeling my inner French OK no, I am not French in any way, shape or form, I am really just channeling my inner desperation for a trip to PARIS!!! I need to be in Disney Land Paris eating croissants RIGHT NOW!!!

IMG_6617

I picked up this Monochrome T-shirt in New Look. I wouldn’t say it looks like your typical New Look purchase which is why I think I liked it so much!

I paired it with another New Look Best Buy of mine – Leather Look Skinnies! These are my Autumn/Winter must haves because the rain literally runs off them without leaving me damp all day!!! In this Scottish weather fashionable waterproof clothing is THE BEST THING EVER!!!

I matched this perfect casual Sunday outfit with a fresh pair of  white Adidas Superstars!!

Denim On Nude … Nude on Denim?

Today was one of those days that involved a wardrobe clear out. I call it a clear out but I never actually threw anything away, I was just reminding myself of all of the clothes I actually own.

On the Move Denim Nude

Along with some other pieces that have been lost in my closet for a while, I matched my New Look denim shirt with my River Island nude leather midi skirt to create the perfect Friday night outfit. Wither its drinks with the girls or a casual dinner date with the BoyF, it’s perfect for both. I matched my personalised ‘E’ chain from Hannah Jewlery to finish it off!
